THE LEGENDARY KEN BURGER
Barbara Davis shared the secret of the Legendary Ken Burger with Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty's wife Mary on the WCCO radio show, GOOD MORNING MINNESOTA. "The most commonly grilled food is a hamburger", said Barbara, "so you might as well make it legendary!"
First, be careful not to overmix or to smash the hamburger too tightly, or the juices run out of the meat. Mix a couple of tablespoons of KEN DAVIS BAR-B-Q-SAUCE into each pound of your ground beef before cooking. You won't need any other seasoning.
Most important: make an indentation in the middle of each patty, and you will end up with a more evenly shaped burger. The middle tends to rise as you cook the meat, often resulting in burger balls that you're tempted to flatten. Don't do that! It presses out the juices. Use the thumbprint method instead.
Lastly, when the burger is finished cooking, brush it with some more KEN DAVIS BAR-B-Q-SAUCE. Let it stand for a minute, then serve it on toasted buns with lettuce and tomato.
The governor's wife added. "We're all very proud of the fact that Ken Davis is a local family-owned business, a great Minnesota story celebrating its 40th Anniversary. And what a legendary burger idea!
